I am so heavily immersed in the stand up world right now. Being unemployed and going to school, I should be more focused on school. I am focused in my academics but I feel young again. I feel like that kid in class dreaming of making it to the NBA, or jamming to the heaviest rock music in a sold out stadium. In the ave I currently find myself, I am a complete loser with no job and by most peoples views a stupid choice to follow my dreams of comedy.

Weather it was starting band, writing my own music, I just couldn't see myself finding the hunger to invest that much time. I love to draw and have done so since I was a child. Attending the art institute was an amazing experience, but again, the drive and passion just weren't strong enough for me to fight through the rough periiods. Stand up comedy is the only art form within me where It is just me. Seeking that instant gratification from the audience is something i never did experience in music. I Can see tears in peoples eyes as I sang or verbal acknowledgment, but it isn't instant. drawing was instant when I can see the person react as my drawing comes to life. If I'm drawing on my own then i have to wait. In stand up it's something I cannot explain. Just seeing and hearing the crowd laugh is so rewarding...

Stand up obviously is much different than telling jokes to my friends or co workers by the water cooler but it is a challenge I enjoy. I am simultaneously working on writing better structured jokes and now I am throwing in more of that performance energy I have always been known for but just couldn't translate on to the stage. Up until this wee, my performances have felt more rehearsed and mechanical. I took the advice from a very funny comedian who I had the honor of working with and realized I need to step out of my comfort zone.
My Sunday night show notes showed me screwing up several jokes but the new found extra that I brought that night helped me recover and add new punches to my set.

What imm tryim to say is... I love stand up comedy... Come catch me sometime.

A snippet of my work.

Me and the GF decided to try Mongolian BBQ for the first time. It was an interesting experience because I've tried Korean BBQ and know that we cook the food ourselves, but atleast they bring the food out to you. Our Mongolian BBQ experience was slightly different. we walked in and an angry mongolian native yelled directions to go get everything outselves, ala a buffet. Okay cool, I understand. There were even recipe instructions on the wall to create our own marinades. What pissed me off was the fact this lady was so invested with her mongolian tele-novela she wasnt attending her customers. I seriously wanted to order drinks and was about to jump over the counter and pour our own drinks.
The food was delicious, just didnt appreciate having to wash our own dishes.

LadyGaga goes too far

Lady Gaga is at it again.

Using the heads of small dogs as her breast holders and my infant offspring is a slap in the face of my DNA. Somebody needs to stop Gaga before she does something horrific. Like show her real face. Why the fuck am I up at 6:53am? Seriously. I spent almost the whole day 2 days ago in bed because I had one of my world famous, mainly embarrassing, since I come out looking like a brittle old man, back and head ache pains. Something is clearly wrong with me. Now my sleep habits are all fucked up. I feel narcoleptic in a sense. There are times when I just randomly fall asleep throughout the day because my back pain and headaches are just so much.

Something clearly is medically fucked up with my head. Constant headaches are no good. Were talking 12 years of headaches. Sometimes I get them so bad I begin to throw up. That only happens every so often. Mainly the bad ones keep my social life in a can in the basement while I lay in bed all day.

So, here I am randomly awake.

I actually woke up to a joke idea running in my head that I think I will try out. Comics will tell you, the stuff that is hilarious to us never comes out the way it sounds in our own head. Nevertheless, a joke idea is a seed in a garden that is hard to step foot in when ideas run scarce. I seriously find myself laughing out loud by myself in bed with my eyes shut at night. I come up with sone of the most genius udders in my head but struggle so much to develop them on to the stage. I know I'm knew to the stand up comedy scene and it will take time. I'm just afraid maybe I don't have funny ideas and I'm just a crazy sleep giggler.
